Following a degree in French and Spanish, I embarked on what was to become an eight-year career in the luxury travel industry. I began by curating, planning and coordinating trips-of-a-lifetime for high-end guests and moved on to managing teams and offices all around the world. During these eight years, I watched my nearest and dearest tie the knot at over 30 weddings and began to realise how much I lived for the look in the bride and groom’s eyes when they saw their Big Day come together.
I knew that if I could successfully plan a life-changing holiday, I could apply the same organisational, perfectionist skills to starting up my own wedding planning business and, in 2020, Lucy Bull Weddings was launched.
My expertise lies in weddings held in the beautiful Cotswolds. I grew up in this part of the world and tied the knot here myself in 2018 so I know the area and all it has to offer the wedding world well. I am based just outside of London and with the help of tools such as Zoom and FaceTime, I am able to assist couples from just about anywhere. My aim is to connect city dwellers with their dream, countryside wedding. My weddings are elegant and refined yet contemporary and, of course, personal.
I carry out most of my planning from my home in Surbiton, but when I’m not there, not out researching and not meeting clients or suppliers, I love to spend time with my family, keep fit, share a bottle of bubbles with friends and eat out in London’s incredible restaurants. I adore travelling and exploring new destinations with my family and our friends. You can take the girl out of travel…
I trained with the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners (UKAWP) and receive continuous support and training from them to ensure that the services I provide for you are the best they can possibly be.
why hire a wedding planner?
The average wedding takes around 250 hours to plan.
Most busy professionals simply don’t have this time to spare. As a Wedding Planner, I will only take on a handful of weddings each year, meaning that time is exactly what I do have to help curate your perfect day. Having grown up in the Cotswolds I know the area but, more importantly, I know the myriad of venues, florists, caterers and photographers as well. Being based in Surbiton means that I am well-located to meet with any Londoners or anyone living near the city who’d like to get married out in the countryside but am also within easy reach of the Cotswolds itself meaning that I can get there easily, do all the hard work and report back to you. For anyone based slightly further afield, I’d still love to work with you and we can easily make it work with consultations via tools such as Zoom and FaceTime.
Why choose me?
My approach to wedding planning is predominantly logistics-led but I will work with you right from the very beginning, should you wish, starting with that all-important mood board to ensure we capture your wedding-day vision. If you aren’t sure how involved you’d like me to be, take a look at my How I Can Help You page for the different options I offer and see which one is right for you. From there, I’d love for you to get in touch via the Contact page with any questions you may have so we can begin your wedding planning journey.
Lots of Love,
The best thing about working with Lucy was knowing that there was someone there for us who had everything under control. We could enjoy the whole wedding weekend without any doubts or worries as we knew things would just work.
