Cotswolds and Surrey Wedding Planner

Meet Lucy

As a wedding planner, there isn’t a single style of wedding that doesn’t excite me, but I will always have a soft spot for a relaxed, countryside wedding. Whether this be in a barn, a marquee or a country house; I love them all. I’m lucky to have grown up in the Cotswolds and will never tire of exploring its charming market towns made up of that unmistakable Cotswold stone and brimming with local shops, quaint tearooms and fresh produce. My favourite town might have to be Bourton on the Water with its shallow stream running through the heart of it, but I’ll always have a place in my heart for Stow on the Wold having married my husband there.

And then having spent the last 5 years living on the border of London and Surrey, I’ve found myself adoring this part of the country as well. I can never quite get my head around the fact that we are bordering the hustle and bustle of London despite it feeling truly rural. My list of favourite wedding venues in both the Cotswolds and Surrey seems to be getting longer by the day, but since starting up Lucy Bull Weddings, I’ve also begun to appreciate the charm of a wedding held in a marquee or tipi in a private home. We can make something so personal out of a blank canvas marquee, which is the true essence of my work.

I’ll create a garden party celebration with all your closest friends and family; informal, contemporary but most of all, fun.

Food, Family and Fun

I carry out most of my work from my home in Surbiton, Surrey, but when I’m not planning weddings, I can often be found chasing two small children around a playground, going for a run (usually to escape aforementioned-small children) or planning our next family holiday. Before launching Lucy Bull Weddings, I had an eight-year career in the luxury travel industry curating, planning and coordinating trips-of-a-lifetime for high-end guests. I’ve never quite managed to let go of the travel bug and although whilst the children are small we are keeping our holiday short-haul, I can’t wait to show them my favourite country, Sri Lanka, or to share with them the magic of a safari! I am a big foodie and, when time allows, I love to eat out in London. However, since the pandemic and having children, I have definitely spent more time in my kitchen than in restaurants! You can usually find a homemade cake perched on the counter and I really love cooking anything Mexican or Southeast Asian. Nasi Goreng anyone?

WHY CHOOSE ME AS YOUR WEDDING PLANNER?

My approach to wedding planning is predominantly logistics-led.

I love coordination, lists and schedules and I want to know that every organisational detail has been taken care of. I can take on as much or as little of your wedding planning as you would like to ensure that we create a fun, yet seamless, wedding day. From your first consultation I like to hear about your interests, your hobbies, your favourite holidays, your favourite food and most definitely about how you got engaged.  For me, every wedding should be truly personal and so by learning about my couples, I am able to ensure we bring a little (or a big!) bit of you into your day.

Having grown up in the Cotswolds and now based in Surrey I am well-acquainted with the best and most talented wedding suppliers in both areas. Living in Surrey means I can do the hard work and research in finding countryside venues and suppliers for you and living just a 15-minute train ride from Central London allows me to hop on a train to meet you and report back. For anyone based slightly further afield, I’d still love to work with you and we can easily make it work with consultations via Zoom.

So, come on in and send me an email so I can join you on your wedding planning journey.

Deciding to work with you was the best decision we made in relation to our celebration… I’m not sure what day it would have ended up being if we’d never got in touch with you!
